What is stonkbattle?

stonkbattle is a free daily prediction game built around real stock market data. Every trading day, we present you with 5 real securities — stocks, ETFs, commodities, or currencies — and challenge you to rank them by how much their price will move before market close. Mark each one as going up or down, lock in your prediction, and see how you compare against the rest of the community when results drop at 4:30 PM ET.

The game is designed for anyone who follows the markets, from seasoned investors to curious beginners. There's no real money at stake and no financial advice involved — just a fun, competitive way to test your market instincts against thousands of other players every day.

How it works

Each morning at 7:00 AM ET, a new puzzle goes live. You'll see 5 securities and your job is to drag them into your predicted order from biggest mover (#1) to smallest (#5). For each one, you also predict whether it will go up or down. Lock in your prediction before 10:00 AM ET for full score credit, or before 1:00 PM ET at a reduced multiplier.

At market close, we calculate the actual percentage moves and compare them to your predictions. You earn points for correct direction calls and accurate rankings. The maximum daily score is 25 points. Your score appears on the daily leaderboard and contributes to weekly and all-time standings.

Beyond the daily puzzle

stonkbattle isn't just one puzzle. We offer a weekly challenge where you rank 10 securities with results scored at Friday's close, and a monthly challenge that spans an entire month. Both give you a longer-term test of your market conviction.

Every player starts with $10,000 in virtual cash to use in our paper trading system. Buy and sell real stocks using live market prices with zero risk. Your portfolio value, trade history, and win rate all show up on your profile and on dedicated leaderboards.

You can also place prop bets on market outcomes, buy cosmetics to customize your profile, and create private pools to compete with friends. All of it runs on virtual currency earned through gameplay — no real money involved.

stonkbattle is built and operated by Dipper Digital. We're a small team that believes following the stock market should be engaging and accessible. Our goal is to make financial literacy fun by turning daily market movements into a game that anyone can play.
